a car helicopter? and Big Dog

   

Pal V Europe is a Dutch company who are developing a personal air-land vehicle and announced and tested their new car-helicopter,the PAL V One.The new concept has a propeller at the rear of the fuselage providing forward thrust and a free-spinning rotor providing lift,making it possible to transform into a small helicopter.On the ground, the propeller and rotor are stopped and power is diverted to the wheels, allowing it to travel as a three-wheeled car. it can reach a top speed of 112 MPH on both ground and air,with a maximum altitude of 4,000 FT. This unique vehicle will definitely mark a new era of personal flying cars.

Big Dog

Boston dynamics is an engineering  and robotics design company best known for the development of Big Dog, a quadruped robot designed for the U.S. military with funding from DARPA(Defense Advance Research Projects Agency.)Big dog will be capable of carrying up to 350 pounds of military equipment through tough terrain like snow or gravel.It can travel at a top speed of up to 6Km|h and  can climb a 35 degree incline.Big dog is powered by a 15HP go-kart engine and a rugged computer onboard.  Approximately 50 sensors are located on BigDog. These measure the attitude and acceleration of the body, motion and force of joint actuators as well as engine speed, temperature and hydraulic pressure inside the robot’s internal engine. The robot has good potential,because it can really reduce a soldier’s cargo load.
